How To Detect and Repair Disk Errors (SCANDISK) :

You can improve the performance of you computer by checking for errors.  Windows 2000 will attempt to repair the disk errors it finds

Note: You need to have Administrative Rights in order to use this feature in Windows 2000.

Steps:

Double click My Computer

Right click on the disk you want to check

Click Properties (This displays the Properties dialog box)

Click Tools Tab

Click “Check Now” to start disk error checking process (disk checking box is displayed)

Click Options you want (I recommend only selecting “Automatically Fix All Errors)

Click Start
