Are you good at the job you do but you feel under-appreciated for your talent? We currently are facing a very tumultuous economy. The world economy is suffering and jobs are being lost everywhere. Now more than ever, one needs to focus on continuing to improve job skills and be prepared for any possible situation that may come. You want to be someone that is too valuable to loose or a hot commodity on the market if you do ever lose your job. It is always a good thing to be prepared and to have taken steps thru self-investment to protect your career, especially today.
If you are in IT business, you are lucky . . . this time around. IT jobs are those that suffer the least, if we can say that. The last two big economic downturns, like the one at the turn of this century, hit IT jobs the most. In fact, the IT industry was the primary cause of one of those downturns . . . the famous Dot Com bubble that burst in 2001. There are many articles written on the subject of that downturn and the collapse of the IT industry, but one thing we need to mention caused the large increase in IT jobs prior to over-inflation of that bubble. This one thing is the well-known problem of Y2K. Years leading up to 2000 were Golden Age of programming. Now in comparison, we believe, we are now approaching the Golden Age of network engineering!
Its 2010, almost 10 years after initial signs of the impending doom for IT industry were visible and we're on the verge of another rise in IT spending, especially in networking. Why is this happening? Well . . . there is no point beating around the bush - IP addresses are running out. The whole Internet works, ticks and functions using IP addresses and the number of those available for allocation to new companies is all but gone! In less than two years, many companies, if not all of them will be forced to start migrating to new network addressing - IPv6.
IPv6 has been around for almost a decade, but in most countries almost no one has taken it seriously. That is now changing, as more and more enterprises are beginning to realize that they may lose communication with large parts of the Internet in the very near future. As they scramble to avoid that, the need for a more capable workforce will begin to emerge. Who is that workforce? Well... network engineers! The Golden Age for networking jobs is about to start!
Yes, we're in recession now, the economy is bad and it is hard to invest in education and certification. However, that's the only way to ensure you are part of the upcoming surge in networking jobs! As an early indicator of this, we need just look at network giants, like Cisco, Juniper, HP, IBM. Many companies are laying off, while these companies are hiring left and right to their most competent and advanced teams! As time moves on, smaller companies and integrators will catch on and tap into this growing opportunity, by hiring even more competent engineers. Who are those people being hired? Companies are going to want Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts, or "CCIE's". Especially the Service Provider Networks that make up the backbone of the internet.
In order to hold a CCIE Service Provider Certification it takes a lot of Hard-work and dedication because CCIE exams are the most grueling IT certification exams in the IT Industry. Achieving the CCIE shows a lot of determination and hard work. So how can it be achieved? Selecting a CCIE training partner with proven track record is the first step towards CCIE certification journey.
Having a CCIE certification has never in history been more important than it is now! Being a CCIE has always provided opportunities for those well-paid jobs, but as we are approaching the before mentioned "Golden Age", being a CCIE may be a promise of much, much more than ever before. So what does that mean for you? Well . . . it is your opportunity to get ready for a big career enhancement, and do so ahead of the market. Do you want to be left out of the opportunity, definitely not? So what is stopping you? It isn't going to be an easy road by any means but the road to success is not easy or everyone would have already been there.
